Your child will improve if they are supported at school, home and at Kip McGrath. Every child that attends tutoring each week and does all of their set homework will improve - both academically and in self confidence.

Every child is different and every problem is different. After the initial assessment, we will be able to provide an indication of how long tutoring may be required and your child's progress is monitored regularly by continuous assessment and we will also provide regular parental feedback. There is no obligation or contract to attend for any period of time. If, for whatever reason (e.g. change of financial circumstances), you decide you are no longer able to attend, all we ask is a weeks notice.

Homework is an essential part of the Kip McGrath programme, particularly for Reading students. We are aware of each student's school workload so set homework is generally limited to around half an hour each week. If you have difficulty getting your child to complete the homework, please contact us immediately.

The main reason students attend Kip McGrath is to achieve improved school results.
We successfully raise the achievements of students because:

• They are closely linked to educational needs and our professional teachers are aware of school requirements.
• They are designed to give students the motivation and increased confidence to succeed.
• We develop an individually tailored programme for each child, based on what we discover during a thorough assessment. It may introduce new content, revise what he or she has covered in school, or extend a child who is already achieving.
The programme will be constantly modified as new education needs arise.
• We emphasise the positive aspects and achievements of every student, so failure is eliminated.

Almost all our students make significantly better progress at school, resulting in: an improved class position, better SATs results at the end of key stages, passing school entrance exams, or higher than predicted grades in GCSE.

An education centre provides the correct environment in which students can best study. The children also benefit from the presence of other students in a warm and friendly atmosphere, not feeling intimidated or restricted by large classes at school. Moreover, each centre lacks the distractions of a family home. Furthermore, the children love coming to the centre and for some children it’s the highlight of the week!

If a child is struggling with homework or showing signs of not enjoying school work, a parent will normally
pick up on this. Do not wait until parent’s night but contact the teacher, express your concerns and ask at
what level your child is performing in class. If the situation is not resolved, then perhaps a little extra tuition
may be required.

We offer a free student assessment, which will determine the level at which your child is currently at. We can then advise as to the most appropriate course of action to benefit each student. After assessing a child we sometimes find that they are at the correct level for their age. Some parents wish for their child to remain at the top of the learning curve assisted by the Kip McGrath programme. There are no catches and no hard sell; we make the recommendations and you choose what you feel is appropriate for your child.
